In the midst of winter, I found within me an invincible summer.
Thank you for checking us out here at the Great Outdoors School of Survival! We are home-based in Redding CA, and lead expeditions and classes in all of Northern California’s gorgeous surrounding mountain ranges. We offer a wide range of courses: youth camps for kids to develop an appreciation for and confidence in nature, outdoor instruction for families and individuals looking to gain competence in an outdoor area, backpacking expeditions for those wanting to experience the serenity and rawness of the wilderness, survival courses to keep you safe and secure in the worst of situations, the nationally recognized Leave No Trace philosophy of outdoor ethics, and much more! We have something for everyone. Here at the Great Outdoors, we believe it is imperative that people learn the skills to survive and thrive in an increasingly unpredictable world. Just as important to us is for people to reconnect with the earth, to return to the simplicity and self-sufficiency we had pre-technological era.
